Purpose

General

This manual is intended to familiarize the user with the capabilities, basic operating principles, installation procedure, and connection of the Start-4 software (hereinafter referred to as the SW). The Start 4 SW is designed for setting up and controlling RPA devices manufactured by Radius Avtomatika JSC, as well as for monitoring and analyzing current and emergency information received from these devices: measurements, trips, events, oscillograms. Only persons who have completed a training course and local instructions on occupational safety, as well as those who have skills in working in a Windows or Linux environment and experience in working with standard Windows and Linux applications, should be allowed to use Start 4 SW. Personnel authorized to use the program during a shift shall be responsible for the operation of the equipment under their control in accordance with the Technical Operation Rules (PTE), factory and local instructions, electrical safety regulations and other governing documents. The Start 4 SW interface is quite easy to learn and is described in detail in this manual.

The Start-4 SW has been developed by Radius Avtomatika JSC for configuring and displaying the process parameters of RPA devices manufactured by Radius Avtomatika JSC. The Start 4 SW is designed for control, recording, signaling, oscillography, and diagnostics of the RPA equipment state.

The Start-4 SW is implemented as cross-platform software compatible with Linux and Windows operating systems. The program's functionality under Windows and Linux OS is the same.

Functions

The Start-4 provides the following operational capabilities:

  • setting the internal configuration (putting into operation or blocking of protection and automation);
  • viewing, setting and storing protection and automation setpoints;
  • viewing, setting and storing RPA device settings;
  • setting parameters for time synchronization with a computer;
  • viewing and reading of trips, events, and oscillograms from the RPA device;
  • continuous monitoring of measurements, receiving signals from discrete inputs, tripping of discrete outputs, occurrence of faults in the actual mode;
  • monitoring and indication of the position of switching devices of the protected equipment;
  • transfer of emergency parameters to the APCS;
  • creation of automatic scenarios for processing information received or transmitted by devices;
  • diagnostics and analysis of emergency parameters.
